The city of Cluj, situated in the north-eastern part of Romania, houses over 300.000 people ( 2002 census) and is an important cultural and economic centre of Romania. The first railway which went trough Cluj, linking two major cities, Oradea ( eastern part of the country) and Brasov, officially opened in June 2’nd, 1867, needed some workshops in order to repair the rolling stock which was using the respective line. The company which had the job to build such workshops was Warring Brothers and Eckersley. Trough time, these workshops extended significantly and Cluj’s role began to increase. The route will contain these workshops, so that you can imagine how they operated in those days.( the shops were most active between 1870-1970). Cluj station grew along with the workshops; nowadays it looks quite different than it had back in 1870. The route in Trainz reproduces things as they were in 2006, so the station, as well as other objects are the new ones.
In the virtual route, these workshos will be present, along with some othe abandoned yards.
The whole route, stretching from Cluj-Napoca to Bistrita Nord, is of about 120 kilometers or 75 miles. The stations, begining with Cluj and travelling towards Bistrita, are the following:

In full season, Cluj - Napoca station is quite congestioned with passenger trains and sometimes freight trains( which were re-routed from Cluj - Est due to lack of space). _________________ Cluj - Bistrita Project layout builder
